This Privacy Policy describes how Quizly ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our AI-powered quiz generation service at https://tryquizly.com. Quizly helps educators create printable quizzes from their uploaded content using artificial intelligence.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name and email address. You can sign up with an email and password or through Google OAuth.

2.2 Uploaded Content

To generate quizzes, you may upload files such as PDFs, DOCX documents, and images. These files are processed by our AI system to extract content and generate quiz questions. Uploaded files are stored securely in Cloudflare R2 and can be deleted by you at any time.

2.3 Payment Information

Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card numbers or banking details on our servers. We receive only the information necessary to manage your subscription status (such as your Stripe customer ID and plan type).

2.4 Usage Data

We use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool, to understand how our service is used. Umami does not use cookies and does not collect personally identifiable information.

2.5 Error and Performance Data

We use Sentry to track errors and monitor application performance. This may include technical information such as browser type, device information, and error stack traces to help us diagnose and fix issues.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Provide and maintain our quiz generation service
Process your uploaded content through AI to generate quiz questions
Process payments and manage your subscription
Send transactional emails (account verification, trial reminders, password resets)
Improve and optimize the service
Diagnose errors and technical issues

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Quizly. Each service receives only the data necessary for its function:

Google Gemini — AI processing of your uploaded content to generate quiz questions
Stripe — payment processing and subscription management
Google OAuth — optional authentication method
Umami — privacy-focused website analytics (no cookies)
Sentry — error tracking and performance monitoring
Cloudflare R2 — secure storage for uploaded files
Plunk / AWS SES — transactional email delivery

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your uploaded files at any time through the content library. If you wish to delete your account entirely, contact us at hello@tryquizly.com and we will remove your data within 30 days.

6. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure database sessions, and industry standard access controls. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal information we hold about you
Correct inaccurate information
Request deletion of your account and data
Export your quiz and question data
Opt out of non-essential communications

8. Children's Privacy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you via email. Your continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
